Girls' Robotics at John A. Leslie Public School
United Nation's International Day of Women and Girls in Science (Feb. 11). February 10, 2023
On February 10, 2023, the Pink Titans mentored girls in grades 7 and 8 on coding, building mBots, and empowerment at John A. Leslie Public School. The girls built mBots with screwdrivers and wrenches. The girls then used a Scratch-based platform to code the mBot to move in a variety of directions by the keyboard and emit sounds. February 11 was the United Nations' International Day of Women and Girls in Science. In acknowledgement of this day, the Pink Titans led a workshop with the younger girls, who drew scientists, then reflected on the representation of scientists in the media.
