Girls' Robotics at John A. Leslie Public School
United Nation's International Day of the Girl Child (Feb. 11); February 10, 2023
On February 10, 2023, the Pink Titans mentored girls in grades 7 and 8 on coding, building mBots, and empowerment at John A. Leslie Public School. The girls built mBots with screwdrivers and wrenches. The girls then used a Scratch-based platform to code the mBot to move in a variety of directions by the keyboard and emit sounds. February 11 was the United Nations' International Day of the Girl Child. In acknowledgement of this day, the Pink Titans led a workshop with the younger girls, who drew scientists, then reflected on the representation of scientists in the media.
