2018 FIRST LEGO League - Into Orbit Trip to Dr. Allan I. Carswell Observatory York University, November 12 and 30, 2018
On Nov. 12 & 30, 2018, the Pink Titans organized a space-themed trip for 11 teams of the FIRST LEGO League to the Dr. Allan I. Carswell Observatory at York University. FLL team members saw the largest astronomical telescope in Canada, made a comet with dry ice, observed a presentation on the Solar System by graduate students in astronomy, and test-drive a competitive Mars rover built by the York University Rover Team. Thank you Prof. Delaney, the York University the Astronomy Club at York University, and the York University Rover Team for the opportunity!
On Nov. 30, 2018, FLL teams had the opportunity as well to present their project to each other and graduate students in astronomy for feedback.
Our #FLL team is enjoying their day at York University learning from students at the physics and astrology depart. We got to check out the telescope, make a comet and learn about the different planets. □□☄️ Thank you @Edmund_Kim for organizing! @RJLANGTDSBpic.twitter.com/lBaxdrKs06
