2016 Toronto VRC Qualifying Event

On Nov. 26, 2016, the Pink Titans sent five VRC (VEX Robotics Competition) teams (57190A to E) to the Toronto VRC Qualifying Event.  The five teams were composed of 24 students new to the robotics experience this Fall.

The All-Girls' Team was comprised of Fiona, Vanessa, Jasmine, and Mahia.  Their robot featured an ambitious scissor-lift design. They are interested in pursuing STEM-related in health sciences.

The top-ranked team was 57190D (38th), followed by 57190B (51st), 57190C (67th), 57190E (72nd), and 57190A (74th).  The lesson learned by observing robots of veteran teams was keep the design simple to ensure consistent, reliable controlling and play!

In one of the memorial matches for the team, one of the robots was stuck to an opposition's robot, then pulled under the fence to the opposing side!  (Note three robots on the left field and only one on the right field.)
