Grade 8 Reach Ahead Program
David & Mary Thomson Collegiate Institute, Scarborough. July 10 & 17, 2024
On July 10 and 17, 2024, the Pink Titans hosted and ran coding and robotics workshops, as part of the Grade 8 Reach Ahead program at David & Mary Thomson Collegiate Institute in Scarborough. A total of 48 students built and coded the LEGO SPIKE Prime robot, using the curriculum of FIRST Robotics Canada's FLL Challenge summer camp. The students programmed the robot to turn, move at various speeds, navigate through a maze. The students then completed a challenge to design, code, and run the robot to push as many cups out of the field perimeter in the least amount of time.
